The Event

The Star of David Bikers have teamed with the Bucks County Friends of AFMDA (American Friends of Magen David Adom) to create a day for motorcyclists and motorcycle enthusiasts in order to raise the very necessary funds in support of Magen David Adom (Red Star of David) and especially in their medical support of Sderot.

The event began with a motorcycle tour through the very scenic Bucks County.

Following the tour, the motorcyclists returned to the starting point of Shir Ami (a reform synagogue) in Newtown, PA where they were joined by the general public for a Motorcycle showcase, best motorcycle judging competition, live music, food, drinks, games, prizes and more...

Our goal for the event is to raise $50,000 for Magen David Adom and its team of volunteer and professional medical responders to provide Sderot with medical, disaster, ambulance and blood services.

We had motorcyclists from our community to be joined by neighboring riding clubs from Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Georgia. This was one awesome event.

The Cause

In Sderot and the surrounding western Negev region, Magen David Adom (MDA) remains on high alert, racing to the scene of every Qassam rocket and mortar attack to protect and care for Israel's people.

American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA) is the authorized organization supporting the life saving efforts of MDA in Israel and representing Magen David Adom in the US. Magen David Adom (MDA) is Israel's only government-mandated ambulance and emergency medical responders, serving as the nation's second line of defense with medical, disaster, ambulance and blood services. Thanks to AFMDA supporters, more than 700 MDA ambulances and Mobile Intensive Care Units are on call 24/7, operating from over 100 Emergency Medical Stations and 11 dispatch stations throughout Israel, logging more than 6.75 million miles and taking care of more than 700,000 patients annually. MDA provides 97% of Israel's blood needs and has launched the MDA Israel Cord Blood Bank.

AFMDA furnishes MDA with the crucial life saving equipment and supplies to serve Israel as "first responders" to all disasters and medical emergencies.

About AFMDA

In 1940, a dedicated and concerned group of Americans realized the importance of Magen David Adom in Palestine, which was officially chartered and recognized as an emergency lifesaving service as a result of the murderous riots of 1929, when Jewish farming and urban settlements were attacked by the Arab population. Under the auspices of the B'nai Zion organization, "American Red Magen David for Israel (ARMDI)" was incorporated in the State of New York to give medical assistance to the people of Israel (then Palestine).

The organization became affiliated with Magen David Adom and worked to upgrade MDA's emergency medical and blood services. The assistance provided to MDA by ARMDI in those first years was crucial in the latter years of the British Mandate of Palestine and in the struggle with the Arabs.

American Friends of Magen David Adom is a tax exempt organization under Section 501 (C) (3) under the Internal Revenue Code. Our Federal tax ID number is 13-1790719. AFMDA is the only authorized tax-exempt fundraising organization in the United States for Magen David Adom in Israel.

The organization was formed in order to provide Jewish motorcyclists the ability to come together and enjoy their love of motorcycles while spending time with people of similar interests.

We are a non-profit organization where all the proceeds go to charitable causes and charitable organizations . Tzedaka (charity) is part of our culture.
